"Araw ng Digos" is a Special (Non-Working) Day in Digos City on September 09, 2019 (Proclamation No. 798, S. 2019)

Proclamation No. 798 declaring Monday, 09 September 2019, as a Special (Non-Working) Day in the City of Digos, Province of Davao del Sur, marks the celebration of its 19th Araw Ng Digos on 08 September 2019.

To enable the people of City of Digos to celebrate the occasion, the Office of the mayor requested that Monday, 09 September 2019, be declared a special (non-working) day in lieu of 08 September 2019, which falls on Sunday.

Amun Jadid (Islamic New Year) is a Muslim Legal Holiday in some parts of the Philippines on August 31, 2019 (Presidential Decree No. 1083)

Pursuant to Presidential Decree No. 1083 known as Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines, "AMUN JADID" or Islamic New Year is a recognized Muslim Legal Holiday. It falls on August 31, 2019 which corresponds to Muharram 1, 1441 Hijra.

Article 170. Provinces and cities where officially observed. 

(1) Muslim Holidays shall be officially observed in the Province(s) of Basilan, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, and in the Cities (of Cotabato, Iligan, Marawi, Pagadian, and Zamboanga and in such other Muslim provinces and cities) as may hereafter be created. 

(2) Upon proclamation by the President of the Philippines, Muslim holidays may also be officially observed in other provinces and cities.

Article 172. Observance by Muslim Employees.

(1) All Muslim government officials and employees in place other than enumerated under Article 170 shall also be excused from reporting to office in order that they may be able to observed Muslim holidays.

(2) The President of the Philippines may, by proclamation, require private offices, agencies or establishments to excuse their Muslim employees from reporting for work during a Muslim holiday without reduction in their usual compensation.

AN ACT DECLARING SEPTEMBER 1 OF EVERY YEAR A SPECIAL NONWORKING HOLIDAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF JASAAN, PROVINCE OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL, IN COMMEMORATION OF ITS FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY, TO BE KNOWN AS “ARAW NG JASAAN”

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. September 1 of every year is hereby declared a special nonworking holiday in the Municipality of Jasaan, Province of Misamis Oriental, in commemoration of its founding anniversary, to be known as "Araw ng Jasaan".

Sec 2. This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in the Official Gazette or in a newspaper of general circulation.
